13.8.6 – Explains and acts on the importance of perioperative management of haematological conditions including anaemia and coagulopathy.

13.9.3 – Describes the principles of intra-operative haemostasis and manages major haemorrhage.

HiLLO 7: Intensive Care Medicine specialists will have the knowledge and skills to initiate, request and interpret appropriate investigations and advanced monitoring techniques, to aid the diagnosis and management of patients with organ systems failure. They will be able to provide and manage the subsequent advanced organ system support therapies. This will include both pharmacological and mechanical interventions.
