The Advisory Committee on Clinical Excellence Awards (ACCEA) has announced that the 2020-21 round will open on Monday 7th December 2020. The closing date for final submission of applications to the ACCEA via their on-line application system is 5pm on Thursday 18 March 2021. This deadline applies to applications for both new awards and renewals of current awards and allows 14 weeks for all stages of the process to be completed, which is an extension from the usual 8 weeks. ACCEA will accept applications for new national awards from consultants working for the NHS in England and Wales and for renewed awards from those due to renew their award in 2021. This includes those who were due to renew in 2020 and whose awards were extended by one year. Award holders will need to submit a renewal application if:
  • they received their current award in the 2017 round
  • their award was last renewed in 2016 (awarded in 2012, 2007, 2002)
  • their award was due to be renewed in 2020 and was extended by one year Those wishing to apply for support from NACCS will need to e-mail their application forms to [email protected]  by Friday 5th February 2021 at the latest. The updated guidelines and application form will be posted on the ACCEA website soon. The process has been simplified, so please ensure you read the guidelines before completing the form. As a reminder, all applications must be done via the online system, if you do not have an account you will need to create one here. You will need to nominate someone who is not working in the same institution as yourself to write a citation for you. You will need to inform us at the time of your application who that person is.
