Dr Charis Banks
(Trainee Representative)
I am the trainee representative to the NACCS council. I am currently undertaking Intensive Care Medicine specialist training in the South West – Severn Deanery with a particular interest in neurocritical care.
I completed a postgraduate degree in Medicine from the University of Warwick in 2012 and after undertaking a PG Certificate in Medical Education I started Core training in Anaesthesia in 2016.
In 2020 I commenced my specialist registrar training in Intensive Care Medicine and in 2023 I was appointed to the role of Quality Improvement Fellow for Workforce, Education and Training NHSE SW (formally HEE SW). I am currently completing a PG Certificate in Healthcare Management, Leadership and Innovation. As part of this work, I have driven the introduction of Processed EEG monitoring for the traumatic brain injured patients in our Tertiary Major Trauma and Neuro-Critical Care.
